DAY 1 | Arrival in Lisbon

Arrival at Lisbon airport, private transfer to the hotel and time to rest. Welcome dinner. Accommodation.

In the morning, we will visit Lisbon to know the main points of the Portuguese capital, Marquis of Pombal Square, Liberdade Avenue with its boutiques of the most famous brands and Baixa, which includes Rossio and Commerce Squares and all the area rebuilt after the earthquake of 1755. We continue to the neighborhood of Belém, where we will visit the spectacular Coach Museum and the church of the St. Jerome’s Monastery, from the 16th century. Free time to taste a traditional custard cake “Pastel de Belém”. Travel along the beautiful Estoril coast to Cascais, one of the most elegant areas of the country. Free time for lunch. We then proceeded to Sintra, where Portuguese Kings and Queens used to spend some time in the summer and built several palaces. A 19th century visitor, the famous Lord Byron, also called it “glorious Eden”. Visit one of the royal palaces before returning to Lisbon. Accommodation.

DAY 3 | Lisbon - Évora

Departure to an award-winning Alentejo Wine Estate, located right in the heart of this region of cattle, grain, cork and excellent wines. We will begin by visiting the winery, followed by an olive oil tasting and a gastronomic lunch accompanied by the wines from the Estate. After lunch, departure to Évora and check-in at the your wonderful hotel.

DAY 4 | Évora - Santarém - Region of Óbidos

Departure to visit the historical center of Alentejo. Classified by UNESCO as World Patrimony, Évora is a living museum city, populated since the Stone Age, an important settlement in Roman times and occupeid by Muslim and finally conquered by catholic kings. A walk through the center that will allow you to visit the Roman Temple, the Cathedral, the Giraldo Square and finally St. Francis Church, with the peculiar Bone's Chapel. Free time for lunch. Then we will leave to Santarém, with visit to the Church of Grace, burial place of Pedro Álvares Cabral, discoverer of Brazil in 1500. Continuation to our hotel in the Óbidos region. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 | Region of Óbidos

Breakfast and departure for a morning tour to the extraordinary complex of Quinta dos Loridos, where we will visit the largest oriental garden in Europe, the impressive Bacalhôa Buddha Eden. The garden features buddhas, pagodas, terracotta statues and various sculptures carefully placed among the vegetation, all part of the private collection of Comendador Joe Berardo, as well as many sculptures by famous artists such as Joana Vasconcelos, Alexander Calder, Fernando Botero, Tony Cragg, Lynn Chadwick, Allen Jones and many others. At the end of the tour, return to the hotel and rest of the day free. Accommodation.

DAY 6 | Region of Óbidos - Óbidos - Coimbra - Viseu

Departure to Óbidos and visit of this beautiful medieval village with its white houses, flowers everywhere, many souvenir shops and several important monuments, such as the Church of Saint Mary, full of beautiful tiles. Continue to Coimbra and visit its famous Baroque Library. Free lunch and continuation to Viseu, center of production of the DOC region of Dão. We will make a walking tour through the historic center, with visit to the Grão Vasco Museum. Dinner and accommodation.

REMARK: On closing days of the Library we will visit Capelo's Room and St. Michael Chapel.

DAY 7 | Viseu - Estrela Mountain - Belmonte - Marialva

After breakfast we leave for the region of Estrela Mountain, the highest mountain in mainland Portugal, with almost 2,000 meters of altitude. This is where is produced the famous "Serra Cheese" and the wool from which many textiles have been made since the 16th century, among which the "Burel". Stop at the top of the mountain and continue along the west slope, to one of the historical villages of the region, Belmonte, birthplace of Pedro Álvares Cabral. Walk through the center with the Castle and ancient Paço dos Cabrais. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, departure to Marialva, another beautiful historical village and accomodation at Casas do Côro in traditional houses totally restored with elegance and all the modern comfort. We suggest having a drink by the outdoor swimming pool, overlooking the castle and the countryside. Tonight our dinner is included. Accommodation.

DAY 8 | Marialva - Douro Valley- Oporto

Departure to the Douro valley, along a road that will show us the beautiful landscapes of terraced vineyards of the region. Upon arrival by the river, we visit a wine farm to discover the secrets of the vineyards in the oldest DOC in the world and the whole process of production of these famous nectars. We have also reserved for you a special program including a "blind taste" of several wines and a delicious vinic lunch. In the afternoon, we will drive along the river Douro to the city of Oporto, capital of Northern Portugal and the city that originated the name of the country.

DAY 9 | Oporto

Visit to the city of Oporto, including the Stock Exchange Palace, with its beautiful Arab Hall (entrance) and a Port Wine Cellar with tasting. Free afternoon. To celebrate the end of this beautiful trip, we will have a gourmet dinner including drinks at an excellent Oporto restaurant.

DAY 10 | Departure from Oporto

Breakfast at the hotel. Free time and private transfer to the airport for your flight. Thank you for traveling with us and enjoy your flight home!
